Assault Trial date set for Liverpool's winger, Raheem Sterling
By John RamosA trial date has been set for Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling following an allegation of assault.
The teenage England footballer will stand trial over the alleged assault of a woman in Liverpool.
18 year old Mr Sterling, denies the common assault of a 27-year old woman in Toxteth on 2 November.
The winger who is from Woolton, entered a formal not guilty plea to the charges through his solicitor.
The footballer did not attend the hearing at Liverpool Magistrates' Court.
District Judge Lloyd warned him that a trial will now go ahead on 20th May at Liverpool Magistrates Court.
Mr Sterling made his debut for England against Sweden in November.
