Liverpool named Britain's best nightlife destination

Liverpool has been named as Britain?s best nightlife destination by the world's biggest travel website.

The City has topped a poll by visitors using TripAdvisor, who review the tourist destinations from across the world.

As well as bars and nightclubs, the criteria also taken into account are the City?s wider nighttime economy including restaurants, live music venues, comedy clubs and theatres.

TripAdvisor?s Best Nightlife Destinations is based on the average ratings TripAdvisor users gave each UK destination in the nightlife category when submitting a review during 2011
