Olympic handover celebration to be held in Liverpool

A free event for all ages and abilities is being held to celebrate the forthcoming Olympics and Chinese culture. China Pearl, a Liverpool based non-profit Chinese Arts and Culture company, are organising an event to celebrate the Beijing to London Olympics Handover to be held this Sunday (22nd July) at Clayton Square in Liverpool City Centre.

The event will be a 2-hour educational, entertaining and engaging programme from 12-2pm on the day including: Performances in Chinese music, dance, martial arts and fashion, Olympic themed performances and Participatory workshops in Chinese dance, breakdance, Chinese drums, martial arts and Zumba for the public
The performances will be from local artists and community members including China Pearl Chinese dance group, Yuxuan Su (a Chinese harpist), Huicong Liu-- British Wushu (Chinese martial arts) Youth Champion, Sean O'Hare (British Wushu Children Group Runner-up), 24-Festival Drum group, Funky Mental Break Dance Group, Steve Macflarlane - a Parr Street Studio resident singer, Danielle & Dom's Zumba group, plus local residents volunteering in Chinese costumes catwalk.
