Not just for Christmas - gift puppies abandoned at Merseyside Dogs Trust
By Eamonn LaveryChristmas is always a busy time for the Dogs Trust, and this year is no exception. A group of seven puppies arrived at the Merseyside branch of the charity over the festive period, and staff believe the dogs were bred to be sold as Christmas presents, and were abandoned when they didn't sell.
The Dogs Trust, who look after over 16,000 stray or abandoned dogs nationally, have been running their "A Dog is for Life, not just for Christmas" campaign since 1978, and stop rehoming dogs over the festive period to try and prevent any of their dogs being given as Christmas presents.
If you are interested in rehoming a dog from Dogs Trust Merseyside, please call 0151 480 0660 or visit the centre at Whiston Lane, Huyton, Liverpool, L36 6HP.
