OurNet - making the internet self sustainable through inclusion

By Eamonn Lavery

OurNet is a revolutionary research scheme which has created an community based online network in Halton Borough. The hope is that it will make the internet financially self sustainable and ensure that it is free at the point of use.

OurNet is partly government-funded and led by AIMES Grid Services - a Liverpool University Community Interest Company.

In this interview, Bay TV's Eamonn Lavery speaks to AIMES's Director, Professor Dennis Kehoe about where the idea for OurNet came from, and what the future holds for the scheme.
