Former England cricketer Jonathan Trott will remain the head coach of the Afghanistan men’s team until the end of 2025.
The board has extended Trott’s contract for 12 months after the team’s excellent performance in 2024. This year Afghanistan made it to the semi-finals of the World T20 for the first time. Trott’s first assignment in the new tenure will be the three-ODI series against Zimbabwe. Before that, the first match of the T20 series is to be played in Harare on Wednesday from 5 pm Indian time.
