Bribery case registered against two including assistant labor commissioner

Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered a case against Assistant Labor Commissioner of Hoshiarpur Harpreet Singh (PCS) and computer operator Alka Sharma posted in his office on the charge of taking bribe. In this case, computer operator Alka Sharma was caught red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 30,000. The court has sent the accused to jail on 14 days judicial remand.

The second accused Harpreet Singh has absconded. The Vigilance Bureau took this action on the complaint of Rohit Chauhan, a shopkeeper of Kashmiri Bazaar, Hoshiarpur. The complainant told that he runs a goldsmith shop. He had got his shop renovated. For this, he was given a notice from the office of Assistant Labor Commissioner Hoshiarpur.
